Scoring and tiers explained
Molionaire has one top score: 500. Here is how every point is earned, and what each tier asks of you.
Three rounds, three sizes
Each day has 3 rounds of 5 cards. The rounds are not equal.
- Round 1: worth 100 points
- Round 2: worth 150 points
- Round 3: worth 250 points
Add them up and you get 500. Round 3 is worth more than the first two put together, so the day is often decided there.
How a card earns points
Each card earns a share of its round. Your share depends on how close your hill is to the true hill.
- Exact hill: the full share. This shows as 🟨 in your share card.
- One hill off: half the share. This shows as ⬜.
- Two hills off: a fifth of the share. This shows as ⬛.
- Three or more hills off: nothing. This also shows as ⬛.
A round of 5 cards means each card is worth a fifth of its round when you nail it. In round 3 that is 50 points per exact card. In round 1 it is 20.
A worked example
Say you play round 3 and get three cards exact, one card one hill off, and one card three hills off.
- Three exact cards: 3 times 50, which is 150
- One card one hill off: half of 50, which is 25
- One card three hills off: 0
That is 175 points from round 3. Close calls are worth real points, so a near miss is far better than a wild one.
The tiers
- Dirt Poor: 0 and up
- Pocket Change: 200 and up
- Nest Egg: 300 and up
- High Roller: 400 and up
- Fool's Gold: 450 and up. The near miss, so close to perfect you can taste it.
- Molionaire: a perfect 500. Every card in its exact hill.
Fool's Gold is a joke tier with a real sting. You can lose a few points and still be that close.
The share card and the Club
Your share card shows one row of emoji for each round, plus what top percent of today's players you beat. It adds a 📰 if you used Mole Intel.
Score 400 or more and you can sign the Molionaire Club, the board of today's top verified scores.
What this means for your play
- Do not give up on a card you think you missed. Half a share is still a share.
- Spend your thinking time on round 3, where each hill is worth the most.
- Use Mole Intel on the card in round 3 that stumps you most.
