FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is Molionaire?

A free daily game. Each day you get 3 rounds of 5 cards. Every card is a real, surprising number. You bury each card in one of 5 molehills, from most to least, before you see the next one. No login needed.

When does a new game start?

At midnight where you are, every day. Your game screen shows a countdown to the next one.

Which hill is which?

Hill 1 holds the biggest number. Hill 5 holds the smallest.

Can I move a card after I bury it?

No. Once a card is buried it stays put. You also bury it before you see the next card, so choose with care.

How long do I have for each card?

12 seconds. If time runs out, the mole buries the card in a random empty hill.

How is my score worked out?

The three rounds are worth 100, 150 and 250 points, for a top score of 500. On each card, the exact hill earns the full share, one hill off earns half, two hills off earns a fifth, and three or more off earns nothing. Our scoring guide has worked examples.

What are the tiers?

Dirt Poor (0 and up), Pocket Change (200), Nest Egg (300), High Roller (400), Fool's Gold (450, the near miss) and Molionaire (a perfect 500).

What is Mole Intel?

One lifeline per day. It reads you the base fact behind the card you are holding. It is free, and it shows as a 📰 on your share card.

What is the Molionaire Club?

A board of today's top verified scores. Score 400 or more and you can sign it with a nickname.

Can I play past days?

Yes. The last 7 days are free to play. Older days are part of the Vault Pass.

What is Unlimited?

Games from a separate pool of cards, so they never touch today's daily game. You get one free game a day. With the Vault Pass you can play as many as you like.

What is the Vault Pass?

A one time purchase of $4.99 through Stripe. It unlocks every past day, endless Unlimited, and removes ads. There is no subscription.

How do I restore my Vault Pass?

Open the restore option and enter the email you used at checkout plus the last 4 digits of the card you paid with.

Can I get a refund?

Our refund policy explains how refunds work and how to ask for one. If you cannot find what you need, email hello@molionaire.com.

How can I play with friends?

Create a group and send the invite link. Everyone who joins appears on a shared board. You do not need an account to join.

Where do the numbers come from?

Mostly Wikipedia, NASA, NOAA, the National Park Service and the makers' own pages. Every number is checked by hand against its source, and the source is shown when the values are revealed. Read more in our sources guide.

Why does a card sometimes use a multiplier?

Some cards scale a base fact, like 100 buns instead of one. The card says what it is multiplied by, so you can do the math.

Can I turn off the sound or use colorblind marks?

Yes. Both are in Settings. For more, see our accessibility page.

Can I install Molionaire on my phone?

Molionaire runs in your browser. On most phones you can use the share or menu button and choose Add to Home Screen.

What data do you keep about me?

Very little. Your progress is tied to your device, and a nickname is optional. Read the full details on our privacy page.

What if a number looks wrong?

Email hello@molionaire.com with the date and the card, and the source you found if you can. We read every report.
