How to play

Five cards. Five molehills. Three rounds a day.

The game

  1. A new game starts every day at midnight in your time zone. Everyone gets the same cards for the same day number.
  2. Each day has 3 rounds of 5 cards. Each card is a real, surprising number, like the sesame seeds on 100 Big Mac buns or the traffic lights in Dallas.
  3. Cards appear one at a time. Bury each card in one of 5 molehills before you see the next card.
  4. Hill 1 holds the biggest number. Hill 5 holds the smallest.
  5. Once a card is buried it cannot move.
  6. You get 12 seconds per card. If time runs out, the mole buries the card in a random empty hill.
  7. When the round ends, the true values are revealed with a cited source.

Scoring

The three rounds are worth 100, 150 and 250 points, so 500 is the most you can score. Each card earns a share of its round.

The later rounds are worth more, so save your best thinking for round 3. Read the scoring guide for the full picture.
